WHO WE ARE

Our mission is STEM. Oregon Space Camp Adventures (OSCA) is a Non-Profit organization dedicated to inspiring kids to pursue careers related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

We focus on making Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) oriented educational experiences, like Space Camp, available to kids in the Pacific Northwest

Since 1995 OSCA has been organizing trips to space camp for students from the 4th to the 12th grades and provides for a wide range of educational opportunities for kids.

Our Partner Space Camp, is operated by US Space and Rocket Center, teaches STEM principles, leadership, and teamwork while encouraging fun and creativity. Since 1985 Space Camp has trained almost one million campers. Program instruction is aligned to national science and math standards and framed with an exciting, immersive experience amidst a backdrop of humanities most significant technological achievements in space hardware. Our High School age campers can even earn college credits!

Space Camp has inspired and nurtured the dreams of trainees, leading many to pursue careers in STEM fields. A Proven track record:

  • 96% of Space Camp graduates say their Camp experience increased their interest in STEM topics,

  • 61% of graduates are currently in or studying for careers in aerospace, defense, energy, education, biotech or technology.

  • Twelve Space Camp graduates have been selected as astronauts.

  • Many Space Camp graduates have become leaders in their fields!

Space Camp has provided a unique, hands-on, STEM experience for students of all ages to train like astronauts! Our curriculum teaches STEM principles, leadership and teamwork, while encouraging fun and creativity. Program instruction is aligned to national science and math standards and framed with an exciting, immersive experience amidst a backdrop of mankind’s greatest technological achievements in space hardware.


In a one-of-a-kind Facility

Space Camp is a one-of-a-kind experience at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, the Official Visitor Center for NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. Each year, trainees of all ages travel from across the United States and 150 countries to participate in our programs. Trainees learn space and flight history, work together as teams, experience simulators, complete simulated space missions, and learn what it really means to be an astronaut.

Five-time Space Camp graduate, Christian H. Koch is the fifth Space Camp alumna to fly in space. Christina launched to the International Space Station in March 2019 as a member of Expedition 59 and 60. She worked as an electrical engineer at Goddard Space Flight Center’s Laboratory for High Energy Physics before being selected as one of eight members of the 21st NASA Astronaut Class. She has worked in space science instrument development as well as serving as a research associate with the United States Antarctic Program. While board the ISS, she is expected to break the record for the longest single spaceflight for a woman. click on the video to hear Christina talk about Space Camp
