Our Mission

 

Oregon Space Camp Adventures (OSCA) is a Non-Profit organization dedicated to inspiring kids to pursue careers related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

We accomplish this by:

  1. Making STEM Oriented educational experiences, Like Space Camp, available to kids in Oregon.

  2. We organize trips to Space Camp, including transportation, Chaperones, and act as a parent camper interface during Camps.

  3. We Make engaging and exciting In class educational experience available to our local schools.

  4. We work with our partners to make financial aid scholarships to qualifying campers.


OSCA’S BEGINNINGS

Space Camp got its start in 1995 when our Founder and President, Dan Tilson, started organizing trips to Space Camp.

Dan Tilson is the recipient of The Christa McAuliffe Fellowship Award, Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching Science and Math, Milken National Educator Award, and Oregon Teacher of the Year. Dan’s dedication to inspiring kids to do great things has been the basis for the formation of OSCA.

As a result, OSCA has made this life-changing experience available to hundreds of kids in Oregon.

Dan Tilson - Director & President

Tim Rosener - Director & Secretary

Since a young age, Tim has been passionate about aviation and space. He began his career as a crew chief for UH-1N Huey Helicopters in the Air Force, focusing on search and rescue. Later, he became a commercial helicopter pilot and also ran a flight school where he taught aspiring helicopter pilots. Tim has held various executive and director-level positions in the tech industry as an entrepreneur. Currently, he volunteers at OSCA and serves as the Mayor of Sherwood, giving back to his community. Since a young age,

Sharon Roy - CFO & Treasurer

Sharon comes to OSCA with significant experience running non-profit organizations. She has held management and CFO level positions at Hospitals and assisted living organizations. She brings a tremendous amount of knowledge, talent, and wisdom to the OSCA Team!
